The Inner Forest Journey
Just as birds offer their medicine of song to call in the morning and plants offer their gift of healing, beauty and food, we each are born with medicine for our community, Earth and All Beings…only we have to “remember to remember” as wise ones have said.
ReWilding is the heart of The Inner Forest Journey…. a nine-month passage into the places where life has begun to break us open. Change sweeps across us like weather. Identities let go. Old ways fail us. Relationships shift, losses deepen, and strange hungers rise from below the life we were living. There is an ancient wild pattern here, older than any psychology, written into the seasons themselves: something falls away, we leave the familiar path, and enter a country for which our usual maps are of little use. If we are willing to stay there—to wander, listen, and follow what flickers at the edge of knowing—something unforeseen may begin to find us. Inner Forest is a way of meeting that passage with courage and heart, entering together, going deeper, standing alone on the mountain, and returning to the world carrying a truth that has survived that crossing.
We wander through council and dream, wilderness and story, shadow and imagination, silence and vastness, and always: the deep intelligence and radiant sentience of a living Earth. Around the fire, and beneath the stars, the borders of our private story begin to erode. The wounds we have carried as ours alone reveal older fractures running through family, culture, community, and the long human estrangement from the wild world from which we spring. What once appeared to be our own failure may prove to be part of a much larger and mythic story. The questions change. Not: How do I heal myself and get back to normal? but: What happened here? What was traded away for social acceptance? What went underground but never died? What longing keeps leaving tracks across the wilderness of my heart? And what might come alive if I follow them?
This is not a journey toward becoming a better version of yourself. Inner Forest asks for something more dangerous: the willingness to lose the path long enough to discover the mystery that has been whispering from a lost landscape. The narratives that trap us, the many agreements we have made out of fear, the lonely lives we have learned to perform—some of them may not make it through the woods. The world itself may cease to be backdrop and become intimate, animate, sentient, watchful, heartbreakingly real and fully alive. And somewhere in that encounter, as in the old stories, something may be waiting: not a prize, but a presence; not an answer, but a way of seeing and following out a question; not another identity, but a life asking to be lived and offered. You enter the forest because something is calling. You do not know what it will ask of you. You do not know who will walk out. There are thresholds in a human life when the greater danger is not what waits beyond, but in refusing to cross.
Inner Forest Journey is a slow radiant walk through the dark to find the treasure of ourselves and Earth, hand in hand.

“As we walk the soul path and gather medicine from the heart of Nature, it begins to sprout and grow within us into a living inner forest where we ourselves become the medicine.” (adapted from Sajah Popham, Evolutionary Herbalism).

Constance Lynn
I am a Nature Mystic with Practical Feet…passionately in love with and devoted to all of Nature while dancing with the mysteries of sprit and soul. My offerings spiral towards the ReWilding of Self through the portals of Self care, plant medicine and contemporary wilderness quests, and spiral out toward a ReWilding of Nature through deep engagement with All Our Relations, as well as sacred activism in service to Life.
I walk with offerings in my hands and a blessing with each step as I wander the mountain and the high desert where I live in southern Utah.
Matt Cochran
I am a tracker, dream scout, and mapper of otherworlds, drawn to the places where the known world vanishes and a deeper life begins to speak. My path has wandered through geology, surveying, wilderness, depth psychology, myth, dreamwork, men’s work, and rites of passage—all of them becoming different ways of learning to read the landscapes beneath appearances.
What I bring to this work is an instinct for navigation: listening for the hidden thread in a life, the dream beneath the story, the radiant shadow, and the wild edge where something more essential is asking to come alive. I love helping people meet those crossings with courage, imagination, and attention, and to return carrying more freedom, wisdom, and wit into their lives.
I also carry a deep devotion to the living world. Part of my work is guardianship: protecting what is wild, restoring relationship between people and place, and bringing more love, strength, and vitality into the ways we inhabit the world. I dwell among the mountains and high desert of southern Utah, where the outer landscape continually informs the inner one. For me, the wild is not merely where this work happens. It is an older map of how we find our way home.
